Vera O'Brien  

I received my master’s degree in philology and taught for many years.  

I am a self-taught artist with a focus on acrylic painting on canvas. 

My hobby has always been art, which received so much acclaim that I turned professional years ago. 

My favorite themes are animal portraits,  flowers, landscapes, autumn colors and abstract. My inspiration comes from reflecting on the beauty of nature whether it is the sky, rivers, lakes and fields. When I transfer these incredible images onto canvas, I want to thank the nature for being there. My paintings are what I am and what I love.

I want to say thank you to my first art teacher,  Jennifer Seaver, who is an amazing artist and person, and all my art teachers since then -  Peter John Reid, Lexi Sundel, Edward Minoft, Carol McIntyre, Deb Watson, Rheni Touched, Sharlena Wood, Scott Gellatly and Tom Swimn.,

From May 2016 I have served as exhibition chairman of the DelawareValley Art League.
